Please Visit and give your support to Demelza House

Demelza House Children's Hospice aims to provide support to families who have a child with a life limiting condition.

"We recognise that each child is a unique, developing individual whose best interests must be paramount.
Our focus is on adding life to days when days cannot be added to life."

Children's hospices support children and young people who are expected to die before reaching adulthood, providing the necessary short breaks and a range of services benefiting the children and young people themselves and their wider family, which are simply not available elsewhere.

They currently need to raise £3 million every year through voluntary contributions. They receive no funding from Health Authorities or Local Government.

' When You Wish Upon A Star ' - This fantastic charity fulfils the wishes of children with life threatening and terminal illnesses. These children suffer debilitating conditions, long periods in hospital and some times painful treatments. The charity has now granted over 5000 wishes. The highlight of each year is to charter 4 planes to take 400 terminally ill children, to Lapland to meet Santa Claus.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution needs no introduction among seafarers. It is quite simply, a superb organisation which requires constant fund-raising to maintain their round-the-clock search & rescue cover to all seafarers in UK waters. The RNLI relies entirely on voluntary donations and is responsible for saving hundreds of lives every year.

It offers a wide range of assistance, including adventure holidays for children, short breaks for widows, convalescence for injured officers and financial help when required. In short, it does its utmost to be "all things to all people" - if there is need and it can assist, it does. It is essential that the work in this welfare field is continued and your help in making this possible will always be appreciated.
